What “Private” Actually Means

No Groups. No Exceptions.

Search for private Pilates Las Vegas studios and most of what comes back is actually group reformer rooms - six, eight, sometimes ten people in a room, one instructor calling out cues to everyone at once. It works well enough as a workout. It is not private instruction, and it was never built to adapt to any one body in the room.

Swan Pilates is different by design. Every session is one-on-one: just you and Rachel, for the entire hour. There is no class size to manage, no cueing that has to work for eight different bodies simultaneously, and no moving on before you are ready because the group needs to progress together. The session is built around you before it starts, and it changes in real time based on what your body needs that day.

Pilates itself is a well-established form of low-impact strength and flexibility training - the NHS guide to Pilates gives a useful general overview. This is the original model Joseph Pilates taught under - private, attentive, one client at a time. Swan Pilates simply never moved away from it.

Why Clients Choose Private

What You Actually Get From One-on-One Work

01

Undivided Attention

Rachel watches every rep, every breath, every small compensation - and corrects it immediately. In a group class, that level of attention is simply not possible.

02

A Program Built For You

Your goals, your injury history, your schedule, your pace. Nothing is templated. The exercise order and apparatus selection are chosen for your body specifically.

03

Real Progression

You move forward when your body is ready - not when the rest of a class is ready. Sessions build on each other with continuity a group format cannot offer.

04

A Trained Eye

Rachel’s physiotherapy background means she is reading your movement, not just counting your reps - useful whether you are brand new or have years of experience.

05

Full Apparatus, Every Session

Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, and mat - selected as your session calls for it, not limited to whatever equipment a group room happens to have open.

06

Privacy and Pace

No audience, no comparison, no pressure to keep up. Many clients say this alone is what makes the work possible for them.

  • Complete beginners who want to learn the method correctly from the start, without the intimidation of a room full of experienced students

What a Private Session Looks Like

01

Conversation

We start by talking - your goals, your history, what has and hasn’t worked for you before. No forms handed to you in silence.

02

Assessment

Rachel observes how you stand, move, and breathe. This shapes which apparatus and exercises open the session.

03

The Session

A full hour, entirely yours. Pace, difficulty, and equipment adjust in real time based on how your body responds.

04

Your Plan Forward

Most clients begin at two to three sessions per week. Rachel will recommend a cadence based on your goals.

Common Questions

Private Pilates, Answered

Is private Pilates more expensive than a group class?

Per session, yes - it reflects a full hour of one-on-one instruction rather than a shared class rate. Most clients find the difference in results and safety makes it worth the difference in price, particularly if they have tried group classes without seeing progress.

How is this different from a group reformer class?

In a group class, one instructor cues several people through the same sequence at the same pace. In a private session, the entire hour - exercise selection, pacing, apparatus, corrections - is built around you alone, and adjusts in real time.

Do I need previous Pilates experience?

No. Many clients are complete beginners. Because sessions are private, Rachel can teach the method from the ground up at a pace that makes sense for you, without the pressure of keeping up with a room.

How often should I train?

Most clients start at two to three private sessions per week to build momentum, then adjust frequency as their practice and goals evolve. Rachel will guide the right cadence for you during your first session.
