What We Offer
Every service at Swan Pilates is built around a single principle: your body is unique, and your practice should be too. Nothing here is generic.
Service 01
Joseph Pilates called his method Contrology — the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. The system he built over decades is precise, progressive, and deeply intelligent. At Swan, we teach it exactly as he intended.
Classical Pilates is not the Pilates you find at a gym or in a large group class. It is a structured method with a specific order of exercises, each preparing the body for the next. The progression matters. The sequencing matters. The principles matter.
Rachel teaches the full classical repertoire — from the foundational mat work through the complete apparatus. Whether you are new to Pilates or returning with years of experience, you will work through the method correctly.
Service 02
Joseph Pilates originally developed his method among injured soldiers and dancers — rebuilding the body was not an afterthought, it was the foundation. At Swan, that tradition is alive in every session Rachel teaches.
Rachel’s physiotherapy background means she can work confidently with histories that most Pilates instructors are not equipped to adapt for. She understands how bodies rebuild, and how to shape the Pilates work around that.
Rehabilitative Pilates at Swan is not a watered-down practice. It is intelligent, carefully adapted Pilates — matched precisely to where your body is right now and what it is ready for next.
Service 03
Swan Pilates does not offer group classes. This is a deliberate choice, not a limitation. Every client receives Rachel’s full, undivided attention for the entire session — because that is the only way to teach this work properly.
In a private session, everything is built around you. The apparatus selection, the exercise order, the pacing, the language Rachel uses to cue you — all of it is tailored to your body and your learning style in that moment.
Most clients begin with a series of sessions two to three times per week. As the work deepens and the body learns, the frequency adjusts. Rachel will guide you through what makes sense for your situation.
Your First Visit
We begin with a real conversation. Your history, your concerns, your goals. No clipboards, no paperwork — just listening.
Rachel observes how you move, breathe, and hold yourself. This informs everything that follows.
Tailored to what she learned. You may use the mat, the Reformer, or several apparatus — it depends on your body.
Each session builds on the last. The work deepens, the body responds, and the results compound over time.
